Term 1 Integrated Learning - Leadership

We have been learning all about What makes a good leader.

We identified that good leaders show 6 main character traits. These are Integrity, Trustworthy, Resilient, Goal Focused, Active Thinker and Motivational.

The leadership trait that I think I show the most is Motivational because I like to help people and encourage them to achieve their goals.

The leadership trait I would most like to develop is Goal focused because I would like to finish my SML earlier in the week.

Something NEW I have learned about leadership is that leaders also make mistakes.

The SOLO level that I reached during this unit of learning is relational because I can compare and contrast the traits of different leaders.

My next step in learning about leadership is to apply everything that I have learned about leadership to my own leadership roles.

Find and validate data measures e.g. MEAN, MEDIAN, MODE & RANGE from appropriate displays

W.A.L.T : Find and validate data measures e.g. MEAN, MEDIAN, MODE & RANGE from appropriate displays

Here is an example:
3, 6, 4, 3, 9, 2

The range is 7 because you take the largest number ad the smallest and minus it, the range is the answer

Find and validate data measures e.g. Mean, median, mode and range from appropriate displays

I can describe what mean, median, mode and range mean.

Mean: Add all the numbers together and then divide it by how many numbers there are e.g.  23+25+28+31+37+41=185 then 185 divide it by 6= 30.8

Median: Get all your numbers from smallest to largest then get the one in the middle and that's your answer. If there are two numbers in the middle then plus them together then divide the answer by two

Mode: The answer is the number that is shown most e.g. 3,6,4,8,3,6,2,2,3,3 the answer is 3 because it is shown most

Range: Get the largest number and the smallest number minus them and the answer is your answer

I can read and interpret a range of graphs

I can read and interpret a range of graphs

For maths I have been learning to read and interpret a range of graphs. This relates to the National Standards as it meets the criteria of:
  • I can compare distributions visually (Year ⅞ Standard)

Here is link to my Statistical Literacy spreadsheet link which shows all of the graphs and tables I can read and interpret.

I have also compared and contrasted some of the graphs. Below are the links to them

My next step is to use these in my leadership investigation next term.

My Argument

For writing we have been learning to write an argument using the writing process. The topic was “Are Devices Taking Over Our Lives”.

Something I did really well in my writing was coming up with ideas that fit the topic.

Here is a section of my writing that shows this.
